Blackbirds definitely nesting in next doors garden, my window gives a great scope view of the female sitting on the nest. Also a pair of Dunnocks look as if they're nesting, but I don't want to disturb the conifer they're in to have a look. Blue Tits still checking out the nest box, but no nest building yet. If they don't start in the next seven days then I guess they aren't bothering this year with the box.

In nest boxes around my yard I have bluebirds with 4 eggs I expect to hatch this weekend, great crested flycatchers with 7 eggs that should also hatch soon, chickadees that started a nest this weekend, and a mystery bird that I haven't viewed yet that started a nest in another box. A pair of blue gray gnatcatchers has been hanging around the box everytime I'm there. This would be unusual for them to use a box, but not unheard of, I think. I still have 4 other boxes vacant and ready for occupants!

here in Aldershot, Hampshire, while the Blue Tits are in the final stages of nest building, last week I discovered that 'our' Robins are nesting just about 4ft below them, with the female incubating five eggs - pictures in my diary and occasional webcam images during the morning.
The Robins have to be careful not to perch too high in the tree just in front of the birdbox and their nest as the Blue Tits get very aggressive. It make a change to see the tables turned on them , as they frequently chase Dunnocks away from the feeding area in the garden.
The Blackbirds started nest building in my 'Ivy tree'at the beginning March so, if successful there should be fledglings appearing in the next week. The House Sparrows also started nesting at about the same time - I am waiting to see their first offspring appear.
I first watched the Collared Doves nest building in the last week of February, but they must have had second thoughts and abandoned that nest. They were building again during this last weekend.
A pair of Crows started nest building (within sight of my garden) in the first half of March and its looks as though eggs are being incubated at the moment.
Unfortunately, I am about to go away for a couple of weeks and will miss several events linked with the nesting in the garden - not too many, hopefully.

still quite early for most species to be nesting here in Michigan, but we have a female Bald Eagle incubating eggs on a volkswagon sized nest not far from my home- Great Horned Owl juveniles should be close to fledging ,we hear the adults in the area calling now and then- Barred Owls should also be nesting, but I haven't heard their calls in quite awhile so I'm not sure if they're back on territory or not. Common Ravens & American Crows are nest-building & many other species are displaying courtship behavior so it won't be long now.

In my garden I have Blue Tits taking nesting material to the nest box and Dunnocks doing the same to a location deep within the conifers. Magpies have also built a nest at the top of another conifer, only about 8 feet from the Blue Tit nest box!

Seb Seb - Luck! Although I should have identified the position sooner considering the fact the it is below the entrance to the BT's birdbox. I just happened to see a Robin go through the lattice work, and then watched as it went there again a couple of times.
It's not possible to see the nest directly, and I wouldn't try to do that, but the construction of my birdbox meant that there is a 1in (horizontal) gap in the wall just above where the Robin disappeared. I used a dental mirror to look down through it and got an unobstructed view of the eggs. The dental camera was in place within the hour, and I now have two TV's dedicated to the two nests for the rest of the season!
One of the first things I saw this morning was the male Blue Tit confronting both Robins in the tree and doing a great job of moving them from 'its' part of the tree.

I have House Sparrows, Goldfinches, Blackbirds and Greenfinches nestbuilding in the garden. As some may have seen there are Blackbird fledglings (http://www.birdforum.net/pp_gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3718&password=&sort=2&thecat=500) in the garden too much to the local tabby cat's delight and my dismay! I have seen Song Thrush (http://www.birdforum.net/pp_gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3537&password=&sort=2&thecat=500) chicks in a nest at Homebase down the road too.
