Just to let you know that for the next couple of weeks the webcam on my garden wildlife site will be concentrating on the Robins' nest at the bottom of my garden. With five eggs being incubated since sometime before 4 April, I expect them to hatch any time between now and the Easter weekend.

Unfortunately, I am going to be away from home during that time, and will not be able to maintain my diaries. I am hoping the computer will behave in my absence and record all the webcam images so that I can do some catching up on my return! My sons will be checking the computer from time to time to put things right if it should fail.

In the meantime, 'my' Blue Tit nest is in its final stages of preparation, with the fine furnishing being brought in a I speak. I would expect the first egg to appear there in the next week and I should be home before they are all laid. Then it will be a case of switching the webcam between nests as progress continues towards fledging.

Now, if only the BT's could wait until the Robins have finished!

Hi David. Thanks for the update. This post must have slipped behind without me noticing it! I have visited your website a number of times, and I would recommend it to the members here.

Regards

Before anyone gets too excited, my original posting about the Robins was in April 2003! The posting must have slipped a long way behind you Helen. This year my Robins are nesting hidden from public (or my) view.
