Can anyone tell me what i should expect to see in Manchester UK area, especially in my garden?

And perhaps what food would attract birds such as the Redwing and fieldfare and the thrushes (song and mistle)

Any help would be appreciated as i can't find anywhere on the net that would give me some good info!

Cheers

I don't know your area, but Redwings and Fieldfares are essentially country birds and come into urban gardens only when snow or prolonged frost prevents them finding food out in the countryside. Then they will search for gardens with berries such as hawthorn, pyracantha or cotoneaster. Apples may also encourage them; you should cut them in half to make them easier to get at. The other thrushes will also take these foods.

I've never tried them myself, but I should think that live mealworms would also go down well with the thrushes. You can get them from bird food suppliers such as C J Wildbird Foods.
