Finally "our" blackcap is back in the garden. WeŽve been looking for weeks now but it was too cold so far. We even had a snow storm last week and still frosty nights.
This morning I was lying in bed when I heard its call and it got me up at once. And sure enough there it was - a beautiful male singing its heart out. It made my day at 6.30 am.
We have got a couple of bushes right underneath our balcony and we can watch the nesting activity quite well.
IŽd like to think that every year it is the same bird that comes back. How likely is it? What is the lifespan of a blackcap? Could it be that one of the young ones from the year before come back in our garden?
