remember folks that fresh water is as important - if not more - than food in the garden.
this is especially true when it starts to freeze sothe birds can keep themselves preened as well as having a drink.

heres a robin taking advantage of one of the bird baths today

Sound advice methinks. Too many people think feeding them is just fine, but what would we do without water eh?

Nice pic btw.

Plenty of water in my garden! Bought something that will hopefully stop the water freezing over so much too when it gets cold.

Ice-Free for bird baths, dunno if it works yet though, apparently it stops the water freezing over at temps as low as -4 degrees celcius...

At least it might stop my dad having the robin yelling at him on the morning!

Would it work if you just put a ping pong ball in or something and that stops the water freezing? Something that floats on the surface anyway. Might stop the birds swallowing some chemicals...

What's this stuff made of Kat?

Its made of some natural plant extracts so doesn't harm the birds and its available from gardenbird.com It is designed for using in bird drinking water so it is completely safe for them ;)
