Ok, so I've read reviews everywhere, looked at sample pictures, well, pretty much thought about everything I can come up to think about when it comes to choosing a digital camera.

The one I'm stuck on is the Panasonic FZ5, mostly because it seems to take the best pictures out of the lot (with the FZ20), and that it's something I can actually afford (unlike the FZ20).

If anyone has any ideas, tips, or suggestions, please speak now, or forever hold your peace ;) Because if not, I'm ordering it :eek!:

I have been in exactly the same position and have settled on the Canon S2 IS which I have just baught, too early to say if I made the right decision but I found the FZ20 a bit plasticy in the hand.

A couple of years ago i used the 2mp FZ1 which started the line of Panasonic superzooms and recently used an FZ20. I even managed to print A4 pictures from some FZ1 2mp shots - the lens is brilliant and can give very detailed images. The FZ5 seems to produce very similar results to the FZ20 from the images I've seen from members on our photo site. The main difference really seems to be the size of camera. The only downside is having to stick to the lowest ISO ratings as Panasonic seems to have the most horrible 'noise' of any digicam I've used at ISO400.
