Anyone with "hands on ", sorry "back on" experience of this bag.The Lowepro site gives all the details of size etc, but as far as I can see no details of empty weight. I would not want to carry the equivalent of an additional camera and lens, just for the weight of an "empty" bag.Anybody with one of these, like to give me some idea of empty weight, and share any pros/cons ?
Thanks in anticipation, will drop back later.

regards I4ani.

Weight: 3 lbs. (1360g)

cheers,

I missed this one.
I uses the 600AW and empty it's very light (hard to quantify, but i've never had my attantion brought to it's weight)... the harnesses can be a bit annoying when you don't need to have it on your back (like wrestling with an octopus getting it out of the car). Otherwise, there's not much to say... it can transport big lenses with tc and pro body camera attached.
Cheers
Andy

Many thanks to Jimtfoto and Andy Bright, for your comments, as your are both aware questions like these are asked because in many cases the products have to be bought unseen ie can not be found alongside the beans in Tescos etc, since many of our retailers are unable to keep specialised stock, so all opinions are always welcome in helping to make a decision.
I have managed to get a bag and once I have tried it out I will try and give an assessment of it.
The weight empty is (kitchen scales!! is 5.75lbs/2.6kg).
As an aside, earlier today I saw some school children carrying their "ruck sacks" with all their worldly possessions, and thought that little guy when he's 20 will be able to carry 2xpro camera bodies and 2x600mm and not bat an eyelid, and I am worried about carrying an empty bag!!
thanks again

For what its worth, though I have no experience of the Lens Trakker 600W, I do have the very much smaller Lowepro Orion Treckker II, which weighs about 750gm. This is divided horizontally into two zipped compartments, with the lower for photographic equipment. In size, one would call this a daysack in the UK. On a recent trip to South Africa the camera compartment took my Canon 350D/Rebel XT with Canon 17-85mm lens attached, Sigma 10-20mm,Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 1.4 extender, Canon 430EX flash, two spare batteries. My Canon 100-200mm f4 L lens went into the top compartment together with a lighweight anorak, and some food. The zipped interior pockets took 2 flash cards, my passport and some money. The outer pockets a torch, water bottle and various odds and ends. It is not designed for long hikes or 600mm lenses, but is ideal for everyday use.
