Looks like Leica are out of the woods after 'restructuring their capital'. They have brought out the D-Lux2, an 8.4 meg camera with image stabilizer plus a new adaptor (Leica Digital Adapter 2) The adaptor will even hold mobile phones!!. Long live Leica.

Unfortunately this is the same camera as the much cheaper Panasonic Lumix 1. I think this camera will appeal only to Leica badge snobs!

You can get more info on both the D-Lux2 and the Lx-1 above from the digital forum on Leica's website. This new Leica has created quite a discussion there. www.leica.com

I am one of those snobs, so i bought the thing. I paid about $90 to have the red badge instead of the "Panasonic". I am very happy with this camera, but i am no camera expert; it does more things than i can think off, for sure.
