I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this query i am still trying to find my feet here. Mods please move if necessary.

All the talk of Bitterns on here has me curious. Where is the nearest site to sunny Bognor Regis to attempt to view them?

Hi Forest Knights,

The best place in Sussex to see Bittern is the watchpoint at Castle Water, Rye Harbour, where they come into roost in the late afternoon/early evening. They can also be seen here early in the morning, and sometimes at other times in the day.

Closer to you, a couple of Bitterns have been seen coming to roost at Burton Mill pond, just off the A285 N of Chichester, near Duncton, in recent winters. Not sure if there have been any sightings so far this year though.
