Hello all,
while trail-running in a new area last evening, I came across dozens of owl pellet caches scattered throughout an isolated conifer grove. I recently relocated to Wisconsin from Florida, so I'm unfamiliar with, what I think may be, a LEO communal roost.
Is anyone familiar with these owls and their roosting habits? I think I missed the boat in regards to actually observing any, but there still may be a resident about.
Thanks

We have a couple of LEO roosts local to me. Around here they favour dense vegetation such as Hawthorn and Blackthorn bushes where they snuggle close up to the trunks, making vewing very dificlut' The other thing they seem to prefer is having running water close to hand within a few feet. Booth our roosts are beside small streams.
