:t: Hello BirdForum.
Scotland's most famous Osprey nest could be fully operational
again this spring after a later-than-normal return by the female
resident for the past decade.
Breeding did not take place at Loch Garten last year after the
male failed to arrive and wardens anticipated there might be
totally new occupants this time when there was no sign of his
mate by the start of April.
But she returned to the nest on April 6th--only the second time a
Female has made a first apperance after the 5th since 1963.
Assuming she finds a partner,it looks like business as usual.

Lets hope that a pair 'do the business' at Loch Garten otherwise the RSPB will have a very expensive 'hut' in the middle of the forest with maybe a Capercaillie to view for a couple of weeks per year at an ungodly hour. Yes I know that there are lots of other species to be seen including Crested Tit and Scottish Crossbill (if you have it on your lists) but they can be seen from almost anywhere in the area.
