Well, I have had my first digital camera, a Canon S2 IS, for about six weeks and it has been a real learning curve for me. I had a film SLR and wanted to go digital and wanted a camera which would enable me to indulge my new interest, bird photography. I settled on this camera after asking and considering advice from Bird Forum members which I found really helpful. I decided against an SLR because I couldn't justify the expense and also because I didn't want my freedom and mobility compromised by carrying around too much stuff. You people are knowledgable and friendly. It has taken me ages to learn what to do with the images once I got them onto the computer (my computer skills are limited) and my family are fed up with my requests for help. I'm still not entirely sure where this is all leading but I thought I would share a few of my pictures. I am moderately pleased with the robin and the bluetit and I include the rooks mobbing the buzzard because I thought it was interesting.

The first pic is good. The second a little dark. The third blurred. Do you use the IS all the time when birding, its a great feature.

Thanks, JTF. I use the IS in shoot only mode. I know the third picture is blurred but I just thought the rooks chasing the buzzard was interesting.

It's fairly straight forward so I'm sure you be fine with it - if not PM me and I'll 'talk' you through it.
