Went to Cabela's website today and noticed that Zeiss, Leica and Swarovski jumped their prices $50-$100 on their bins and scopes, apparently since the first of the year. As usual, Swarovski led the price points, but Leica and Zeiss have narrowed the 'gap'--European optics pricing continues to amaze me! Great stuff, but ouch!!!!! :'D

Check out the pricing of some of the other non-European bins. I thought that I noticed a few of the Leupold models with a price increase....and not the ones with the upgrades in terms of coatings or designs.

In September the prices for the "top 3" European 10X42 Binoculars on Cabela's website were:
Leica Ultravid $1649.99
Swarovski EL $1779.99
Zeiss Victory FL $1549.99
Now the prices at Cabela's for the same binoculars are:
Leica Ultravid $1745.99 (an increase of $51)
Swarovski EL $1849.99 (an increase of $70)
Zeiss Victory FL $1649.99 (an increase of $100)
Interestingly the 10X42 Nikon Premier LXL during the same time period had no change in its price. It was and still is $1299.99.
The Leupold Gold Rings have stayed steady with a price of $999.99, but the Leupold Wind River Pinnacles have had a $40 jump from $509.00 to $549.99.

I also noticed that even the lower priced Zeiss models jumped up in price as well.
