Hi All
Staying for a week near Murcia, not far ssw of Alicante in august this year. Anyone have any sites good for Larks,Bustards,Sandgrouse etc or generally good birding sites nearby ( 50 miles perhaps) radius of Murcia. Particularly interested in plains species. Any web sites or trip reports very much appreciated
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt
I can possibly help you with where to see some steppe species but we are talking about 100km from Alicante. Not the best time of year to be going but still a good chance of Great Bustard & Black bellied Sandgrouse, however Little Bustard & Pin tailed Sandgrouse could be more problematic. There is also a decent chance of Stone Curlew, Calandra, Short toed & Thekla Larks. Give me a pm if you would like further information.
Regards Jules
