I've just changed from Nikon analog to Canon digital after 25 years with Nikon cameras and glasses. My Nikon guear was too old and some of the lenses required replacing, so I made the change to Canon hoping its performance met the same quality as nikon did ... and to tell you the truth, I am very happy with the new purchase:

Canon 20D
Canon 17-85 USM IS
Canon 70-300 USM IS
2 Lexar 1GB 80X CFC

I am a professional naturalist who uses photography as a teaching medium. So far I am very pleased with the results of my new guear. The 70-300 USM IS zoom really gives me the amplitud I need (without dishing out some very hard cash for "L" lenses) for my work photographing nature in the new world tropics. To make my point, I am posting some picts for you to see some of the results.

I am attaching some picts so you can apreciate the quality and range of the lens. The hummer picture was magnified 80% just to let you see how well the 70-300 works as the picture was taken from two meters away at 300 - iso 400-IS in very poor light. I took the picture hand holding the camera thus the softness of the pict. I feel this is a great glass for the money and some of you may be very happy with it. By the way. I am an active pursue image hunter because I do not have the patience to stay still at one place so a medium telezoom fits me well. I hope I can help some of you with tele/zoom choices.
