An appeal to birders around Great Yarmouth.......
On Saturday I reported six colour-ringed Med Gulls on Gt Yarmouth beach, one from Poland and five from France/Belgium. The Belgian contact, Renault Flamand, has asked if anyone could check for colour-rings regularly at the site. Unfortunately it is too far for me but surely someone nearer could have a look. The gulls (29 on Saturday) are normally very approachable, either for ring-reading or photography, down to about 5 metres if you are careful. Any colour-rings noted can be reported via the excellent website www.cr-birding.be
I have warned Renault that ring-reading is very much a minority activity amongst British birders........
