I've had fly past a couple of House Martins, 3 Swifts, a Carrion Crow and not much else today. Mind you the new office is on the 11th floor of Sheffield Hallam University in the centre of Sheffield!
I just mentioned to my colleagues that I wouldn't mind seeing a Peregrine flying past the window now and again. A Kestrel would suffice.
Oh and the South Yorkshire Police helicopter!

Over the last 15 years I've had the following from my office window
Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler (By far the best bird and one that hung around for 3 months)
Red Kite
Firecrest
Brambling
Ring-billed Gull
Black Redstart
Buzzard
Peregrine
Raven
Not bad for the middle of Plymouth
The usual birds are Herring Gull, Magpie, Starling, Blue Tit
Last week one of the Herring Gulls had been collecting sticks for its nest (on the roof) and had obviously been digging around in some dark peaty soil. When it flew past the window all I saw was a large gull with a Black Head. I couldn't believe my eyes, and for those few seconds before it flew past the window again I was already composing my "how I found a Great Black-headed Gull" article for BFers

Hi Darrell,
Hume's Yellow-browed?Lucky so-and-so!;-)
We haven't had a record of this recent split here as yet(but I'd bet that one will eventually be found, maybe this autumn...)
Not working at the moment, but I never saw too much out of the ordinary from my last workplace:regular Peregrine probably the best.In the immediate vicinity, however,I did manage wintering Common Sandpipers,an ad.Ring-billed Gull,Black Redstart etc while on my lunch break or commuting to or from work.

My office list is not extensive, but includes
Great blue heron
Red-shouldered hawk
Northern rough-winged swallow (a pair were nesting this spring in a drainage pipe on the side of the building just above my window, but unfortunately got washed out during a rainstorm)
Canada geese
Northern mockingbird
American goldfinch
House finch
American crow, which can sometimes be seen mobbing the red-shouldered hawk--my job has me on the phone with customers most of each day, and it's hard not to put the caller on hold to watch when this happens.

Speaking of birds seen from the window...In hindsight, the incident that put the birding spark in me occured in 6th grade(11 years old) when my teacher pointed out a Bald Eagle soaring outside our classroom window. Guess that was one for his "office list".

It's not a list, but it's office related: Thought you might get a kick out of this, posted a week or two ago by one of the senior level biochemists in MSU's biochem dept.
Colleagues: There is a nesting mallard duck in the northeast corner of our
parking lot. Sometime in the next three weeks (perhaps imminently) she
will hatch the last of her eggs and set forth on a journey to the nearest
water. Last time this happened, several years ago, the duck nested next to
the northeast building entrance. We managed to escort mother and 16
ducklings safely across Wilson road and the remaining quarter of a mile to
the pond east of the railroad tracks on South Farm Lane. There's no
predicting which way this one will go, but of more concern is running over
the ducklings in the parking lot. I'm asking Pappan to make a large
banner: WATCH FOR DUCKLINGS, with a right-hand arrow, to hang on the
building to remind people to be careful. Thank you for your collaboration!

Black redstart seen each year from the window of my office in Cromer during the five years I was there in the mid 1980s. More recently we used to look forward to the return of house martins which nested under the eaves of the offices in Attleborough. Sadly, those offices have since been demolished and the delicatesen counter of a large supermarket now marks the spot where upto a dozen nests were built.......sad !!!
