Hello eveybody,
I have a funny question. I've searched all encyclopedias and haven't found the answer. I just found this forum and thought I'd try here. :-)
Can someone tell me why some birds hop and some walk like us humans? I really really need to know.

Unless someone knows better, the best i can come up with is that for some birds hopping is a bit more energy efficient than walking/running.It may be to do with how they search for food on the ground ...a steady pace for bug/worm hunters as opposed to seed eaters.I suppose hopping is easier for smaller birds too.
