Discontinued ??

Just about to buy a new D70 only to find its a discontinued product ( warehouseexpress uk ), has it been replaced by the D70s ?? Any info ?? :cool:

As a follow-up, I suppose it has been, but anyways, it's basically the same as the d70s which has "replaced it" except a couple hundred dollars less. I went with a D70 over a D70s. It takes to the same pictures and is the best affordable camera(the D70) there is, arguably by only gentile Nikonians. Hope that answers your question.

Seen some info somewhere about 3 new nik's this year, so it may be time to sit back and wait a while see what happens. Until then my D50 will have to continue its work.

Personally, if i had a D50, i wouldn't bother upgrading to the D70s - i'd save up for the D200. I doubt you'd see that much of an improvement by switching from D50 to D70s - the D50 is essentially a D70 with a few minor facilities missing, whereas the D200 is almost a pro camera, and should last many, many years without the need to upgrade again. If only i could afford one!
