This morning i took my wifes car to a local state park to do some digiscoping, well i had her a/c on full blast and in my truck i normally ride with the windows down and no a/c. When i went to take my first pic of a towhee i noticed that the front objective was fogging up really bad and when i'd wipe it off it would continue to fog. when it states gas filled anti fog does that mean for the inside of the lens or is there a problem with my scope. I assumed it was due to the scope getting cold in the car and the outside temp being 80+F. Once the scoped reached outside temp is was fine.

Hi Paulyoly,

Dont worry it was just condensation on the outside of the lens. The anti-fog covers the internal lens surfaces. If you get fogging there it cant be wiped off.

This is why I dread the hot humid summers here. You just can't get the spontaneous shot when you go from a cool spot to the outside and sometimes it takes quite awhile for the camera temp to adjust. Can't leave the camera out or in the car cause I will burn it up. So you just have to wait.

Just put your gear in a plastic bag and wait for it to warm up to the outside air. You won't have to worry about moisture inside your expensive equipment. I too dread the long hot humid southern summers!
