Walt,

I do not know if I can be of much help. I am quite new to scoping myself but I have tried to connect my Digital Rebel (300D) to my Pentax scope (80ED-A). Not sure if it would be different on your scope. Using the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens, I connected a 52mm-T-mount adapter to the lens. I then connected the 1.25" MaxView DSLR from Scopetronix to the t-adapter. The Scopetronix webpage is decent (http://www.scopetronix.com/).

In my first attempts, I noticed some difficulties that make me skeptical about proceeding to digiscope with the DSLR. First, the camera connected to the eyepiece and the scope is heavy. I am using the Manfrotto 3011 with the 701RC2 head and tightening the head so that the weight of the camera does not pull the scope down has been problematic. Second, in terms of getting a decent exposure, I found that the light demands are quite heavy. Trying to shoot a slow moving duck at 400ISO, 1.8F and 1/320 shutter speed, the photos came out blurry. You can see the results in a thread that I posted on Andy Bright's Digiscoping Forum. Finally, focusing through the camera has also been somewhat of a challenge. It is possible that it is my experience and not the setup that is to blame. I am also using a Canon A95 and the results seem to be much more promising.

I look forward to hearing about other experience. I hope this helped.

Hi Rich I was thinking it may be to heavy, so i went to L C E in Notts to try them he suggested there is away to use the scope as the main lens attached straight on to the camera, he also told me to get in touch with a firm called SRBfilmcompany. co. uk. I will try to make contact on 1/3/2006 .but thank you for your input.
