I do not use the A85, I use the A95 and have used the A80. All of the Canon A series were good for digiscoping.
http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/A85A75A70A60.html do and adaptor that fits around the lens of your camera and gives you a 37mm screw thread to connect a commercial "tube" type digiscoping adapter to. Which adaptor depends on the diameter of your scope eyepiece.
Alternatively there is the Baader adapter that connects to your camera triposd mounting screw and clamps to the scope eyepiece. Do a Google search for "Baader digiscoping adapter" and you may come up with a local supplier.

For more info on digiscoping visit Andy Brights website. http://www.Digiscoped.com (http://www.digiscoped.com/)

Hope that helps

Thaks Alan.

You can tell me more information of the system you have made a thing to centre the camera lense in the scope eyepiece without touching the glass. Its made from a chopped down 35mm film container with a large hole cut into the base, then tape wrapped around the outside untill it fits snugly into the eyepice. Do you have a scheme/design or a photo of the system?

Thanks again

Gianni

I recognise the words!. Not all 35mm canisters are exactly the same diameter, I was lucky to find one just the right size. Just look at all the bottle tops that you have around the kitchen, you should find something the right size!.

Hand holding. Just for positioning the camera lens in the centre of the scope eyepiece, and to stop the lens's touching.
