Hello

I've been avidly reading this forum for weeks now, but this is my first post and, I'm sorry to say, it is to ask for help.

I have just bought the Eagle Eye Adapter for my Nikon 4500 / Swarovski ATS80HD. Separately, both the camera and the telescope work fine. Put them together with the adapter and all I get are black images. I realise that I must be doing something fundamentally wrong - any advise will be very gratefully received.

Cheers

Pol

Hi Pol,
Glad you made your way to Bird Forum.net, hope you're enjoying it.
I'll resist the urge to ask you to remove the objective cap on the scope (I didn't resist very well) :-)
Are these totally black images.... or just under-exposed images? This sounds like incorrect exposure settings on the camera
Perhaps you can post what settings you are using? Aperture priority? Shutter-priority? Program?
Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy

Thanks for your reply - yes, there has been the vaguest outline, so I guess they must be very under-exposed. It is a bit difficult answering your question about the settings I have used so far because I have been fiddling with them so much that I decided to reset them to default and start again from scratch.

My knowledge of apertures and shutters etc etc is somewhat lacking, I must admit, but I have been trying to follow your "suggested settings". Would you be even more specific about what exposure settings I might start with ? Or let me know where I might find the basic knowledge that I so obviously lack......?

Kind regards

Pol
