Noted the browner one flying around me when I was half way up a mountain ( over 1000ft) in the south west highlands of Scotland last week. When it landed, I noticed the other one which was smaller. Not sure if a mating is taking place. Don't know too much about moths. Are these two colour morphs of the same species or is one colour male and one female. Any help appreciated.
