hello andy i don't know were to post this.
today i used my brand new Leida apo televid 77 with my digital camera. I have no adapter yet and it was very difficult to get a shot. the camera must be placed about 2 cm. above the zoomlens. while floating like this the posistioning is also important. But i got some nice shots.
i even saw a rare gull( in holland).
I read your instructions on camera settings ,but unluckily i cannot use the macro mode. the camera zoom returns to wide angle and no shot is to be made like this.
All shots were taken in RAW, autofocus, (some on manual )
Aperture mode or program and matrix measurement.
mostly i used a one stop overexposere.
i will also post one ore two of the niced ones in the galery. if there are requests let me know.
Thanks for all your advice on this topic.

Hallo Rob:
NIce to see your pictures, may I recommend Adobe Photo SHop version 7 and learn how to use the software and you will manage okay with the photos taken.
Dont let any one fool you, it is seldom that one or two pictures of one bird is taken that rates the perfect shot... here is where digital cameras are very good using the shoot and delete feature (goedkoop) ha ha ha.
visit my webpage and see some of my pictures and other stuff.
I am also new at this starting May 2002 with my digital camera and spotting scope and also new into birding, but I am learning...

Rob:
I took the liberty and played with Photoshop V7 and used the pair of gulls you posted.
Here are the results of what can be done, and I did not go all the way, just improve the light and sharpening.
Hope you dont mind

Hi Rob, some excellent shots there..... be nice to see one or two posted in the full gallery at a larger size.
Did you use a contact sheet programme for this composite photo?... looks very effective.
Regards,
Andy
