Hi all,
Just some info you might not know. I live close to Saltholme which is a place close to the Tees estuary in Cleveland UK. The RSPB have been developing the Saltholme site for a few years now and have ran into some difficulties with a local farmer. He has ben grazing his cattle on the site for a few years now and has actually had the cheek to try and claim the land as his own. Hope he fails and the RSPB get full rights back, as the farmer is one of the nastiest men I have ever met, and cares little about his animals. He has also put his cattle on a SSSI site at the mouth of the river Tees for which I have reported him, but as yet they are still there.

The farmer who was trying to take the land from the RSPB at saltholme has failed. One of his workers I was talking to today told me that he has given up the fight to gain full control of the land (due to some agreement that was signed years ago), and has agreed to work with the RSPB in its development.

Regards cain.

Good! :t:

Looking forward to visiting the site - perhaps in a few weeks' time in mid-June when I have a fortnight off work.

just in case you haven't seen it, the RSPB have an interesting monthly diary on the saltholme development http://www.rspb.org.uk/england/north/about/saltholme/diary.asp
I doubt whether the RSPB would have planned a 5million pound project without checking any land claims
