Today out on the back deck my wife changed the hummingbird water and I hung it back up on the hook. The hummers couldn't wait to jump on. We have at least 7 hummers at this feeder alone. Today we changed the feeder twice, we have Ruby throated, Allen's and black chinned coming to two different feeders. I'm located near San Antonio, Texas. Richard L.

That is SO cute! Don't give them dyed nectar if you can help it though. There's enough colour in the feeder itself. You probably already know this, but a simple nectar of 4 parts water to one part sugar boiled and cooled is their favourite! Have fun:)

Thanks, we just use cold water and sugar and they love it. Coloring is the only artificial. Thanks again,... Richard L. of Texas

That reminds me, I need to put up my hummer feeder again. Here at western Oregon, we only recieve Anna's and Rufous, but occasionally, strays of Costa hummers will be sighted.
Hummers are amazing. One time I was standing next to the feeder just to enjoy the morning sun, and a rufous hummer zooms by unexpectedly, and floats in the air only 5-6 inches away from my face. A close-up view of active hummer is fantastic.
