Hi,
I have just bought a canon A95 at a £129.00 plus 5.95 for next day delivery from the digital camera company. I have a nikon 4500 which is working ok but the screen is worn and makes it difficult to focus. At that price I could not resist the camera to have a play with.I just hope it takes as good a picture as the nikon did.
Happy Snapping

Ste,
I have been using the A95 with a Pentax 80ED-A scope and the Scopetronix Maxview Eyepiece and have been quite pleased. I followed the recommended settings of an earlier post on the BF, camera zoomed almost all the way out and using the macro setting with a shutter release cable. The adapter that I bought was from Llensmate.
Good luck with the camera - you should enjoy it.

Hi Fleisher,
I received my A95 yesterday and I am very pleased with it. The screen is a lot better than my worn nikon 4500 and everything seems to respond a lot quicker.I have made an adapter with a couple pill bottles for now but it seems pretty secure so I will see how I go with it. The shutter release bracket from the nikon fits ok and my compact flash cards are ok so no other expense other than the camera which I think is a bargain. I will hopefully get out at the weekend and take some bird pics with it.

Hi Ste
I have been using the A95 for about a year. I use Swarovski optics, EL 10x42 and the HD65 scope with the 20-60 eyepiece. I have been relatively pleased with this camera except for the focus which I find to be fairly slow and a bit unpredictable. My previous camera was a Nikon 880 and it focused much better. Here is a picture of my homemade binocular setup and some sample shots. I use the Swarovski camera adapter for the scope.

Looks great Ste, I just bought an A85 on ebay for £70, one reason I bought it was you can get a tube adaptor to attach filters etc with a standard 52mm thread, I use a Foxfoto clamp on the scope and this would mate to it very securely and it will give more options to use filters etc. Anyway I thought I would mention this as your A95 (and a few other Powershot series) can also use the tube (about £6 on ebay) :)
Good luck

Hi,
I really like this camera, its not my main digiscoping one,but i think in some situations the a95 is maybe the best.
Its colour reproduction i think is fantastic, and for me it can be good for picking out details over a very long distance.
Not as quick to respond as id like it to be sometimes.
Its good for macro insect shots too.
Heres a few of the pics i've squeezed out of the a95 since i got it a few months ago (more on my site too) :
