I met with Swarovski yesterday to discuss optics and digiscoping and was reminded that they are having a digiscoping photo contest.
Thought I would post the link for those that might be interested.

If you are entering it would be cool if you post your images here too so we can all enjoy them too.

Thanks, Doug,

And just a note for everyone that your scope does NOT have to be Swarovski - so it appears to be open to anyone w/ a digiscoping setup.

Yes, that is true.

I am excited to see some entries.

Please do not shoot me but I must tell you this. :eek!:

Before you get too exited read the rules for entering the competition and especially this one:

***********
In addition to the image submitted, a parallel photograph must be forwarded which has been shot under the same conditions but WITHOUT using a field spotting scope (with a digital camera and standard lens only). Only those images submitted with parallel photograph without a scope will be eligible for the grand prize - those without the accompanying shot will be only eligible for the runner up prize.
**********

As if bird digiscoping is not difficult enough as it is.

That actually makes sense as it shows that a spotiing scope was used, otherwise it could just be a picture taken with a regular telephoto zoom lens or a shot taken from a few feet away.

You're absolutely right. I know it makes sense and I 'm not suggesting this rule should be skipped but it's just a shame that this will make it very hard to enter the competition with a digiscoped bird photo. I just thought I should react so there will not be very many people dissapointed.

For those who still want to participate I have a suggestion:
take a photo of a stuffed bird.;)
