I own a Contax SL300R camera, which I'm trying to learn to use properly. I tried photographing birds (we just returned from the Pantanal region in Brazil where the bird life is fabulous), but my pictures are very poor. Does anyone have some hints?
Does anyone know whether some telescopic lens attachment is available for this camera?
Thanks.

Hi allenreit,
On behalf of Admin and the Moderators a warm welcome to Bird Forum :t:
I used to own a Contax SL300RT. It came with a small plastic filter adapter which clipped to the front of the lens creating a filter thread - 28mm (or 37mm) I think. The camera could then be mounted on a digiscoping adapter - I use the Swarovski ATS80HD with a DCA adapter and the Contax adapter screwed straight onto the adapter.
However the Contax was such a light weight camera it was almost as easy to hand hold the camera with adapter to the eyepiece which fitted snugly on the 20-60x zoom and take photos using the continuous shooting mode.
Once the scope was in focus on the bird you could hold the camera to the eyepiece and half depress the shutter - most times autofocus locked straight on, though sometimes whilst half depressing the shutter you could fine focus the scope using the LCD.
