Adding filters to scope?

Has anyone used a uv or polarizer filter on the end of their scope, i realize that a polarizer filter will cut down on light, but i get fast enough shutter speeds with my setup so long as the bird is in the sun. Do they make 80mm filters? My scope is thread for something.

Well after seeing the price of a 82mm polarizer filter i think i will try a 28mm at the camer/eyepiece side of things, would this give the same result as one on the end of the scope? I'm assuming my scopes threads are 82mm as it's an 80mm objective lens and i don't see any other sizes of filters.
