Started off by hearing this unusual and loud scream. Thought it was some animal that had gotten hurt. Then it was moving around as I tried to follow it, and it was coming from up above. Realized it was a bird, one that I hadn't heard before.
Shortly after I heard the scream of Blue Jays. Sure enough as they got past the tree lining, I saw a couple Blue Jays chasing this hawk (later checked local hawks and matched the sound, it was a Red Shouldered Hawk). The blue jay and hawk screaming must have stirred up a couple nearby crows. Now you have all 3 birds chasing each other around screaming at each other. Quite the noisey disturbance.
Lastly, I guess the crows kept on alert for some time after the hawk incursion. I saw these 2 crows flying high above at heights I haven't seen them fly at before, just cawing away.
