Amazing how their population continues to decline, yet probably not fast enough to still be considered endangered..... |:(|

I saw an interesting article recently on predation of the Spotted zowl by the Barred Owl. It has been commented on for some time that the Barred's seemed to be "pushing" the Spotted Owl out of its territory as the Barred expanded, but this was the first "proof" of actual predation. Thanks. That's a good link. I've seen other articles referring to the barred owl as a major threat. It migrated from the east coast.
While not happy with sharpshin hawks and loggerhead shrikes who threaten my backyard visitors, I know they're mother nature's. The predators I do worry about though are human.|=@|
