Been offered a mint one in case (two actually). He actually says its a "K 30 AV with an ME80 head" but I can't find any data on either......
Any good ? How much is one worth ?
Thanks.

Whatever someone's prepared to pay...? This mic system was made up to 1993 and parts are no longer available. The K30AV comes out on a horrible 8-pin DIN connector that you may be able to get with some difficulty, to which you will need to present 4-15V on pin 8

If someone offered me this for less than £30 I'd consider it, but powering it would be a right PITA in the field involving a DIY battery box with a 9V battery.
Broadly equivalent to a ME66, but with a lousy sensitivity of 5mV/PA (the ME66 is 14B more sensitive!) and an estimated 7dB higher noise floor.
Not a bad mic for video use in the 1980s. Not ideal for a birder. If the ME66 + K6 is too dear for you then a Sennhiser MKE300 will give you about the same response shape, about the same noise floor, but about 14dB more sensitivity which is well worth having. And no external battery box...

Jeez !
Many thanks. I think I'll pass and use my existing mics in an already offered parabola.
Cheers,
