I have Nikon D70S and purchased a Sigma 50-500. I asked for a Nikon mount but when attaching the lens to the camera there is a tiny amount of play. Is this normal, has anyone else seen this? Thanks Inka.

A TINY amount of play is normal. If it comes to 1mm or so of play, it's not good.

Sorry, can't speak to the Nikon version, but I had a small amount of play on my Sigma 50-500 on a Canon 20D. I just put that down to the amount of bashing about I gave it. Didn't seem to affect electronics, or image quality.
cheers,
jim

Also have a little play on the axis between my D100 and Nikon 300f4 and with the converter on, but not between the converter and the lens.

Been out of internet range recently. It isn't getting worse, and it is not affecting picture quality. Hope to get better with the equipment so I can post some photographs. thanks Inka.
