Whilst the contest for the best British inland county races ahead in the other forum - I'll be in London next week and hopefully can get a few birds for my UK list (little pathetic at the moment - 50 only), before I go and try to knock a few off the list on Scilly.

:hi: Any suggestions; I know there's a wetland area that's supposed to be quite good, no? I'll be in Islington but obviously public transport is there although I must admit, the tube doesn't sound very attractive considering the weather at the moment.

Cheers
Marcell

Hi Marcell

This may help you plan your time: http://www.richmond.gov.uk/home/environment/land_and_premises/conservation/nature_reserves.htm

London Wetland Centre, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park and Hampstead Heath are all worth visiting

indeedy ... Debs suggestions are good for an array of species, a day at The Wetland Centre could boost your wader list and there's always the chance of something special

Thanks Debs and Des. Just been looking at that link - mmmmm, I smell some good English birding ahead especially adding the dessert (for me that is) of St Martin's etc on the Isles of Scilly.

Cheers
