All I can remeber about Pennington was Little Egrets, Curlews, Dunlin, Golden Plover etc.

Recently at Keyhaven/Pennington they've had Curlew Sand, Wood Sand, Little Ringed Plover & Garganey amongst others. Also the New Forest can be productive if you know where to look. There isn't much birdsong around at this time of year but woods such as the Highland Water Inclosure (Bolderwood) and Denny Wood could still produce Crossbill, Firecrest & Lesser Spotted Woodpecker as well as the commoner species. Also here there is a good chance of Tawny Owls and Woodcock at dawn and dusk. The area around Beaulieu Road Station is very good with good chances of seeing Dartford Warbler, Woodlark and Hobby as well as Nightjars if you go out towards dusk. Hope that helps.

Acres Down should still be worth visiting, for raptors and usual heathland/forest birds - Hobby, Crossbill, Hawfinch, Tree Pipit, Dartford etc and you may be lucky to find something rarer.

Stanpit Marsh worth a visit - try to get there 2-3 hours before high tide (tide times on CHOG website - see footer).

Blashford gravel pits often interesting, possibility of unusual terns and waders, plus the Great White Egret may still be around.
