Does anyone have any info on the new Eagle Optics Ranger SRT 8x42 Binoculars? How do they compare to the Pentax DCF SP 8x43? I'm looking to replace a recently stolen pair. Specifically, I'm looking for an 8x under $600. Any advice?

Thanks!

Why not get the Bushnell Elite 8x43 for about $500 from eagle optics dot com? See the threads about this model.

I'd rather go new than refurbished.

Haven't seen the new Ranger SRT's, but the Elite's are head and shoulders above the SP's I've owned, and most have rated the SP's higher than the previous Platinum Rangers series....

Regarding the Elite's from EO, you'd never know the difference between new and refurbished. Mine did not have a mark on them anywhere and they carry the same warranty as new. The only way you'd know they're refurbished is because the box is marked accordingly.

Some will scoff at the Bushnell name, but don't let them fool you. I've owned everything from the Pentax DCF SP's to Swarovski EL's and Leica Ultravids, and the Elite's are amongst the finest glass I've had my hands on...

Keep talkin' them up Buster and I will be forced to sell my new 8x32 SPs in an effort to finance a pair of 8x43 Elites. ;)

Where do you guys usually sell your stuff? Seems like you would not get even half back. I seem to keep my old toys, two got donated to a nature center.
