IS or not IS.

Hi All
When shooting flight shots do you use IS or not?
A mate said to me that you dont need IS for taking flight shots.
I would just like to know if all you experts out there use it or not.

I'm nothing like an expert, in fact only a beginner but I always leave it on (switched to mode 2 on my 100-400 if I remember)
