We are headed for Exmouth in a couple of weeks time, and are wondering if there are any special birding places in that area? If anyone out there has any ideas of hides, or places where we might see some birds we would be very grateful. Thanks Mali & Hazel.

Hi Mali,

We went to Devon last week, at Exmouth there's the sea front where you can sea watch from the comfort of your car if the weather's not so good, likewise from the car parks next to the train station, where you can look out on the River Exe. At Topsham there's the RSPB Reserve at Bowling Green Marsh, a viewpoint looking over the River Clyst, and from Goat Walk good views over the River Exe, where you can see Avocets if the tide is right.

On the opposite side of the River Exe, there's Exminster Marshes, and Dawlish Warren. While you're on that side of the river the area around Exminster village is good for Cirl Buntings, well it was last week.

If you plan to travel further afield, there are lots more sites to visit.
