Ok silly me goes and scratches my chip on my Canon 1DMK2 by cleaning it the night before I'm due to go on a few days break on the broads!!

I felt SICK and I mean that, I had just wrecked my camera in less than 2 seconds!! I have cleaned my camera loads of times before lets just say I will be taking a lot of care next time! And Before you asked I used all the correct cleaning swabs etc... not my toothbrush :o)

I come to the point, A very kind Internet Camera shop kindly allowed me to pick a new 1DMK2N up from them on Monday morning, (credit card is now empty) when I took my first shot (outside there office) of a white transit van I noticed that the LCD had a yellow cast over the screen?? the whites were not white but yellowy (if that's a word?) The menu text had also a slight cast over it? The images look fine when downloaded on to a PC?I rang the supplier who agreed to replace the camera and I could pick another up from them on my way home ! Excellent Service!! I changed this for another camera, got home and I have taken several shots with it and this camera is the exact same !! Yellow cast!!

I have tried this against another 1DMK2N and this looks fine! I have also transfered my CF Card into my old 1D and they are spot on so theres no problem with processing, My question is has anyone else had this problem???

Ouch - that's a nasty hit in the wallet. Any chance of claiming on insurance?
I have a new 1DsII - all of a week old. I dont think the colours on the lcd are completely accurate either (a slightly cool look to the images), but how critical is it? Do I understand you correctly in that the images process correctly - both JPEG and RAW? Is the auto white balance correct? This seems to be the case with my camera, so I'm not too worried what the lcd display looks like. I can see what the colours of the subject are with my eyes, after all! If I use the lcd it is to check the histogram to check exposure in camera.
I can only see it making a difference if using images straight from the camera, eg some press applications when speed to market matters. I routinely review RAW files on the computer, and therefore can use the calibrated and much bigger screen available there.
