Hi all
My apologies for not being too active after joining. Im a return to college gal and over my head with Organic Chem this semester (anyone good at tutoring??). I have been a long time birdwatcher and novice photographer. I currently own a Canon Digital Rebel 300D and a 75-300mm Canon Zoom lens. I also have made use of digiscoping with my Swarovski (spell) scope in which I find a great deal of vignetting when I scope using higher power on the eyepiece. I have been investigating a way to increase magnification power for the zoom. B and H Photography in New York sells 2x Teleconverter lenses but do not recommend them for the zoom I have. In the old days, I had a Minolta film camera with a 70-210mm zoom that I used a 2X teleconverter on with decent success as long as I used 1600 ASA film. Any thoughts on using teleconverters? It would be cheaper for me at the moment as I would love to eventually get a nice super telephoto but the price tags are out of my range at the moment. I love digiscoping but would like to obtain much better images without the vignetting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess the issue is looking for suggestions to get better and closer images when out birding.
