I'm looking to buy a new pair of Bins in the next few weeks, I like to try before I buy so I'm looking for a shop within 1 hour of the Tamworth/Birmingham area, I have a limited budget so the shop needs to cater to the cheapskate :'D and they need to stock Opticron :t:
Rob
PS I know I have narrowed it down quite a bit but I don't want to waste my time going shops that stock nothing I can afford etc

I can second the recommendation. I bought my Leica scope, eyepieces and Manfrotto tripod from them. They showed me all the alternatives and let me swap from one to the other until I was sure of my choice. They even showed me discounted display eyepieces without my asking. They have a small garden area with a bird feeder to allow 'field' comparisons. They also have a wide range of books and clothing too. Very bad for the bank balance all that temptation under one roof!
They also repaired the mounting plate on the Optolyth draw tube scope I left with them. I still have it as a back-up scope and the Slik tripod I bought with it. It gets used either 1) for someone who wants to go birding and lacks a scope to see if they 'need' one to add to their bins or 2) for someone who does little birding in the field, being a garden birdwatcher 90% of the year.

They also have a very good viewing facilities for looking at birds including a large number of feeders and a small lake.
I buy all my optics from them even though they are 90 miles from where I live!

I used the highstreet stores Jessops and Jacobs to test out the bins I bought, before buying them much cheaper online at www.cameras2u.com ;)

Another vote for focus optics from me. Tim and all the staff are really helpful with a wide choice of stock to choose from. And they sell very reasonably priced prints from a local photographer ;) ;)

Why not combine a day out at Rutland Water and visit In Focus? They specialise in Opticron and have other budget brands. You'll find the chap who runs the shop very helpful indeed - and you can properly test out a range of bins to your heart's content then go off and use them on a super nature reserve.
That said, for £99.00 you can still buy the Nikon Sporters (8x36) from Warehouse Express. I doubt you'll match that value anywhere.
