Just returned from my evening stroll, due to my beloved 7x42 porros currently being serviced I had to borrow my mothers practica 10x23 compacts!

The exit pupil on these is miniscual,as is the eyerelief. They are also quite dim which made trying to identify a flock of small tweetles(possibly linnets?) almost impossible.

I also had a great deal of difficulty holding them steady, after tonight I don't think i'll ever consider anything other than a good 7x42.

Counting the days till I get my opticrons back!

I must say that I agree. I had an interesting time finding which 7x42 worked for me particularly but I do not think I will ever find another view as relaxed or as enjoyable as that out of my Trinovids. The depth of field, exit pupil size and brightness are what I have always been looking for in a binocular. I did finally splurge and get the 8x32s as well. Though the view is excellent in the 8x32s I still find the 7x42s more relaxing and versatile overall. Glad I do not have to choose between the two. ;)

Yes, too big a change. I have some similar bins, but to hold 10x steady, you need some 10x40 models. Roofs.
