Hi

I have been asked to do a photographic presentation in Powerpoint to a local wildlife group. My problem is image sizes, do I need to resize my images in photoshop to something like 800 x 600 pixels (as for the web) or leave as I would for printing. I'm sure that I heard somewhere that downsizing the images shows no apparent lose of quality on a digital projector and just helps keep the file size down.

Thanks

Rhod

In a word = yes! your digital projector will be limited to something like 1024 x 768 or less so there's no point in having files of higher resolution. Use Photoshop's 'save for web' option to dramatically compress the file sizes - use the preview facility to judge how much compression is acceptable - you can probably go for between 30 - 40 per cent quality without obvious deterioration in the image. You'll see a massive reduction in file sizes which Powerpoint will really appreciate and so will your audience in not having to wait for an age for each slide to load.....

Hi I have made power point presentations lots of times for various audiences and I always reduce the the size of the images to make loading easier, but also they come out the right size when inserting them. To insert a large image into PP and then have to fiddle about adjusting its size is tme wasting and frustrating. I find that 800 x 600 works well.
