After only 3 months of usage I lost the rubber grip on the front of the camera.
Gone in the field!
Took it to Canon who also noticed the screws to the lens attachment were loose.
My only conclusion is that I must be too heavy handed. However, I have to change lens many times a day while on family vacation. This may have caused some problems.

This is most unfortunate, Peter. Can there be a manufacturing defect in your camera? Anyway you have got it fixed by Canon. May be you can try a longer range zoom like 28-200 while on family vacation. This may save you quite a few lens changes. Furthermore, if you change your lens in the open too frequently, it is easy to get smudges in your camera sensor, which will in turn appear in the images.

I'm very suprised to hear that you have had these problems with this camera, I have been using a 350D for well over a year now (giving it daily use) and it has had no problems at all. I also know a number of other 350D users and none have had any problems with their cameras... I would guess that you might have been unlucky and got a 'faulty' unit.

I hope that you got it sorted quickly and that Canon carried out all of these repairs under warranty.

What rubber grip are you talking about, mines all hard plastic.

There may be different versions around. The one I bought in Singapore has a rubber grip on the front where your right hand holds the camera.

Canon is taking care of the repairs under warranty only problem is that I live in Thailand and they will only do it in Singapore.

No rubber grip on my camera either and as most know mine went in the local lake and is still working just fine! Hope you get your camera repaired and returned quickly Peter.
