I suppose the Seawatching season is just getting underway in ernest (in the United Kingdom at least).
Anyone planning any trips to the South-West or booked on the Scillonian pelagic?

None down the southwest, but I'll be going out from Tynemouth, looking for Wilson's Petrel and whatever else might be out there

Plans are still afoot for the first Icelandic pelagic this month but "organisation/p*ss-ups/breweries" are the order of the day in the Icelandic birding world. Was planning to go out on the peninsula weather permitting on Sunday and may even go on a whalewatching trip - it's been a poor year for Blue Whales but a bumper year for Killer Whales in these parts and I might try and kill two birds with one stone (or at least two creatures in the same bins), Killer Whale and Sooty Shearwater, in the next week or two.

Hi Edward,
Is the implication that the Killers have eaten the Blues?? Or at least frightened them away?
Good luck with the trip - and don't forget to look for Wilson's among the Stormies!

Jasonbirder, we attempted one recently but the weather was too nice on the day so we aborted it.
I am watching the weather and will dart off to Orcombe Point when it is 'bad'.
