Hi,
Just picked up this 5x lens. Any top tips for best results with coolpix 990, i.e. camera settings etc. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Jono,
I bought something similar to the Eagle eye the other day on ebay auction, its made by Tokina and is a 4x tele lens (cost me £4.99) its got a 46mm thread and the build quality is really good! (the case is one of the best i have owned, thick solid leather) optics are spot on too. I will test it this weekend to see how it works on my Fuji (and Sony camcorder) on the Fuji there will probably be plenty of vignetting but i can always crop them in PS. I bought a Sony DVD Recorder too to transfer all my camcorder tapes (phew) so plenty to keep me occupied?

Cheers

Tested the Tokina today on Fuji S7000 and it works a treat! all you do is zoom out until vignetting disappears/focus the tokina until its pretty close and then use autofocus on Fuji. There's no purple fringe either!
As i thought it really needs using with a support ie tripod/monopod/beanbag etc (i used my trusty Kaiser shoulder pod and although it was quite windy the pictures turned out much better than expected.
I have tried to find more info on this lens but so far no luck, its a great piece of kit and there may be others turn up S/H on Ebay. I will try to post some pictures of the lens and of the photo's taken today (once i have figured out how to do it)
Cheers
Brian
