A couple of days ago I took the best pictures in my life of a Sparrow Hawk in the garden. In my excitement I saved three copies of the two best pictures and put them in a new folder, then I cleared the card and cleaned up all the rubbish off my computer into the rubbish bin and deleated the lot. Then I went looking for the new folder to edit the pictures and couldn't find it. I must have deleated it with all the rubbish. I near feinted when I discovered what I had done, I did actualy have tears in my eyes on the discovery. I wrote to my friend Christineredgate pouring out my distress to her and she said that there might be a way to retreave them and that there was a thread on it in the forum. I car'nt find the thread so I am writing here, hoping someone can direct me to it and is there a way a person can retreave a lost picture or have they gone forever.
Fingers and toes crossed. Tanny

This is probably stating the obvious, but have you checked the Recycle Bin on the computer?

If not in your recycle bin then the best and simplest photo recovery I've come across is - http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm
A free download and a small but very effective piece of software.

Hi-ya gang, sorry for not getting back sooner. I tried your Inspector Smart Recovery, Stan and the computer began going through every file in the hard drive and I was pleased to see it working so well. After four hours it was only 1 percent through and in six hours up to 8 percent through, well I thought, be patient it will be worth it. At about 8 hours the (#*"<~+%*) thing shut down and I got so (p*#^) off that I have given up the idea of ever finding my pictures.
Now I have seen your recovery site, IanF, I might, if my patience is strong enough, have a go at that. Thanks all of you for your advice and commiseration.

Hi Tanny,
I forgot to mention it would be best to leave it running over night, thats what I did. I think the reason it shut down was maybe the place you where recovering the files to filled up. Regards,
Stan.
