10 more Anagrams for you to have a got at if you wish.

There is a common theme, and a virtual bonus point will be awarded to the first person to recognise the theme.

I reckon these are of mixed difficulty (although experience tells me you're pretty good at these!) but I think there's one absolute stinker... unless you happen to be Hanno???

Here goes...

JOY - A TAD MANIC=Jamaican Tody
DELICATE, RATHER PETITE=Ratchet-tailed Treepie

I had to use my global bird list to confirm these existed!

As to the theme - I think dennis was spot on!

The only theme I can guess at is that they all featured in the great global bird count?

robinm

Surreybirder: I thought of that and no they are not all in GGBC. I'm struggling for the link.

Well, the theme's not diet, it's not the number of syllables in the name, and not all the names contain a reference to colour, so I dunno! I think dennis may have it.

Perhaps they are all species that Birdman has seen (on the telly?)?
Otherwise it's hard to see much in common between Manx shearwater, eastern kingbird and Ratchet-tailed treepie!! Perhaps the theme is that they have nothing in common :D

I have it!!! Example below:

Ratchet-tailed Treepie (Temnurus temnurus)
Jamaican Tody (Todus todus)

Although....Purple Gallinule(Porphyrio martinica)but...Purple Swamphen(Porphyrio porphyrio)

Might be just a difference between our respective reference materials(and the names they use).

Birdman's asleep, but I laud your efforts. Laurels to all hands. I myself gave one look at the beginning of the thread and threw up my hands in despair.

Now I'm going to bed, and Birdman will be along in a moment.

Nice one, Birdman (Avihomus avihomus?)

Wow... you have been busy!

And yes, you got the theme (dennis, you were close first time!)... although I should've known to be more careful with Porphyrio porphyrio, from the problems it caused in GGBC!

Even with the list robinm, the Treepie's a good spot!
